Desert in the City

Traveling is always one of the best ways to relax. Luckily, I’ve got 9 days off on Chinese National day this year (and it’s a paid holiday $$). I am the type of person that will book tickets and hotels ahead, but leave the rest on the departure day to decide. Xiamen (Amoy) was the top 1 place on my list, which is surround by the beach and warmer breeze. Who doesn’t like taking a nap, while basking in the sunshine!

Ten-Thousand Rocks Botanical Garden is a must- go in Xiamen, where you should spend at least 3 hours since it covers a wild range of plants/flowers(over 7,000). It was built on the mountain since 1960, and unlike the other botanical gardens, this one offers over 15 specified planets gardens. I highly recommend psammophyte and rainforest areas. As they are interesting, and perfect for photo shooting!!! Pasammophyte was full of cactus, in different sizes and shapes. Most of the cactus were in flower so that the desert was a riot of color.

I like how my blue dress & red straw hat created a contrast with the green background! Oh, need to mention, the temperature inside the facility was pretty high. Can you image that I was sweating, and half of my back turned wet just after few minutes! Tips: 1) better not come in the hot summer to avoid sunstroke, but if you have to, please make sure you wear sunscreen and under protection,  2) it is free of charge if you decide to come before 7 am, which is perfect for those morning birds (definitely not me)!

“Even if you were a cactus, I’d endure all the pain just to hug you”

Definitely gonna come back to this fabulous city! Can’t take my eyes off in the night market: a huge collection of seafood, fresh fruits juice, and fancy local shops. The street is bustling with noise and excitement, yet everything is at a fair price.

Happy Reading & Let me know where is your next destination!
