Finally, it’s here!

The Toronto based creator and fashion icon Dani Roche along with her talented friends, Trevor Wheatley and Cosmo, have created an ultimate selfie station (click the link to watch the video!) at Scarborough Town Centre to celebrate Zara’s grand opening. The fluffy pink wall, odd colorful shapes, the carnival mirrors, and the whole creation, was just everything we’ve been waiting for.

Although we’ve been long-time admirers of Kastor & Pollux‘s work, this installation motivated us even further. They started off as a blog of two, like us, and have attracted so many talented contributors to become the digital and experiences agency they are today. It made us realize, dreams do come true, and as long as you put your heart into what you love, people will follow.

IMG_0585Yico: Mustard is my new favourite colour, I just feel that this top goes perfectly with my purple hair (Yes, I dyed my hair purple recently and love it!). The material is velvet so it’s absolutely soft and comfy. It gives an effortless look as both of the sleeves and collar are a bit wider. I do not usually wear jeans because I have a massive collection of skirts/dresses, but this pair is a must-have! It’s a relaxed fit, and the light wash highlights the uneven cut. This little stylish detail will make a huge difference to rock your outfit. The round hair clip is from H&M, and such a simple accessory definitely elevates the whole look.

IMG_0586 Yu: Mom-jeans are BACK. And it’s about time. Although I do favour skinny jeans since I’m pretty short and anything baggy makes me look even shorter, I thought I’d change things up a little. These black jeans are now my closet essential, but I’m still on the hunt for a pair of mom-jeans in the perfect shade of blue. The green cropped sweater is thrifted at Value Village, and it was love at first sight ♥ It gives the sporty touch that’s right on trend, but also gives off a street feel.

As of now, we are still searching for our style as Rhapsody Monday (you may see that we’ve evolved a bit from our past posts). But we hope to deliver more and more inspiring posts, so that one day, we can inspire you just like Kastor & Pollux inspired us.

As the spring is fast approaching in Toronto, we decided to take a stroll around in the downtown area to grab some coffee and spend our Sunday afternoon (sorry it wasn’t a Monday!) with one of our good friends. We stopped by Tandem Coffee located in Corktown on King St., a coffee shop filled with unique and subtle interiors. We definitely want to do another post to include details of our experiences featuring many other coffee shops in downtown Toronto.

Yu: I got way too excited when this skirt came in the mail the other day, and decided to match it with Aritzia’s thick cocoon turtle neck to protect myself from the chilly wind in Toronto. These pair of Vans’ Old Skool is also something I recently purchased, and they fit me so well! They are very true to size, however, to prevent the edge of the shoes from scratching my feet, I had to wear them with a pair of thick socks. They are definitely high maintenance, especially in the rainy spring weather, but little spots of dirt will easily come off by just using Vans’ Gel Cleaner (about $14CAD), which saves so much time from me bleaching them periodically.

IMG_9823Yico: Bomber jacket is the newest trend of 2016, and for outwear I prefer slightly oversized fit so it gives me enough space to layer with other pieces. Almost every brand has one, get yours at Topshop, Zara, and Mango (a pink one)…Some of you guys may notice that my bag is from Mansur Gavriel, and it was so hard to buy in 2015 because this bucket bag was the “It Bag” of that year meaning everyone should get one. The design is so simple yet functional, it provides another detachable wallet as well. There are over 20 colours for you to choose but I personally like to stick with neutral colours for designer bags since those colours are classic and never go out of style. White shoes are my favourite as they just match anything. This low-top canvas sneaker is from Eytys, a Swedish brand. What caught my attention to this pair was the minimalist look,no big labels but unique with purple tab at back of the shoes.

Last but not least, a big shoutout to our friend Yogi who took these lovely photos! He is amazing, and we definitely look forward to do more collaboration projects in the future. Don’t forget to check out his Instagram feed 🙂

The weather in Toronto is extremely unpredictable, as it can bring lots of sunshine on Monday, yet got a major snow storm on Wednesday. I literally experienced two seasons in three days… The good side is: everything is fully covered by snow after the storm.

I was thinking to do a shooting at sugar beach with snow so it gives a fancy look since the background is a combination of pink and white colours. However, I didn’t get a chance to go in the past few weeks due to midterms and endless assignments. Thus, I was actually excited about the “bad” weather and decided to go right after.

It looks unreal, like a fair-tale.

Sugar beach is located at 25 Dockside Drive in Toronto’s eastern East Bayfront. This is a cute little spot to relax when your down by east side of Queens Quay (Click to see more information). It has chairs, umbrellas, and super soft sand. However, it is actually an urban beach park because the “beach” is not meant to allow swimming, but still provide functions as other social activities. Some people considered Sugar beach as a paradise in the busy downtown area, as they can come chill and relax during lunch break or after work. During the summer time, it holds several events such as music festival. You could come to read, people watch, or fall asleep under the sun, and for kids to play with the sand.

So I decided to take off my winter jacket when it was -10 degrees that day just to look nicer. I gotta say it’s worth it (hopefully haha). I chose to wear a all black outfit because it creates a strong contrast with the brighter white background. To make it fun, I picked this square disc necklace from COS. I like how big the necklace is and it’s really eye-catching as well. The midi skirt is from Forever 21 that I purchased last year, and I remember it was around $25, such a good price right!

Lastly, special thanks to my amazing friend Kristy for this lovely behind scenes shot, you could visit her personal page at She is absolutely talented yet creative at photography and editing, please take a look  <3

On this week’s Rhapsody Monday, we took a visit to the Trinity College Chapel (as we talked about in our previous post) in the University of Toronto. It was fascinating to see such beautiful architecture existing on campus, and since we had classes right after, we decided to do a very quick photo shoot.

The chapel is located at Trinity College, Hoskins Ave., Toronto, where we also published another blog post on. Its design has an essence of European gothic style, which we found to be very different from many other chapels in Toronto. The second floor has a large pipe organ, which is often used by the music students and faculties.

The chapel was the last work of a British architect who also designed Liverpool Cathedral, the Cambridge University library, as well as the famous British telephone booths!  For anyone who’s interested, click here to see its full historical background. The chapel provides services throughout the week, but from time to time, the chapel becomes empty and quite. If you pass nearby, feel free to go inside and keep yourself a moment from the busyness of the city. And yes, they also provide wedding services *wink-wink.

Yu: Usually during my school days, I like to dress comfortable for those long hours sitting in classes. This is where all my jumper dresses come into play, and out of all that I own, the ASOS one is definitely my favourite. The shoes are vintage pieces gifted by my mother (s/o to the most amazing women in my life!). They are real leather and were handcrafted in Italy. The only downside to them is that the soles are very hard, which makes my feet feel sore after a certain amount of time, and also slippery when walking on snow/ice. But none of that matters since they look so pretty 😀

Yico: You guys may notice that I wear sweaters really often and match them with different bottoms like a pair of pant, jeans or skirt. I am kinda lazy in winter so sweater is always my top choice, and I only need to take my jacket, then I am ready to go out. As I mentioned in first post, I bought about a total of 10 sweaters this year. (I should stop but I  just cannot, the struggle lol). The one I am wearing is from an individual store back in China, I am so obsessed with the deep green colour, and  it has vertical stripes give a trendy look than the plain ones. The material is a mix of mohair and wool which makes it super warm. The high rise skinny jeans is from Forever 21 and I have to say it is so soft and comfortable!!!

IMG_8621We are planning on making a post of TOM*(Toronto Men’s Fashion Week) for next week, so stay tuned! Have great week everyone! ♥

¡Hola, Mundo! My name is Yu (not you, it’s Yu!). This week I’ll be introducing myself a little, so here it goes!

          Some Fun Facts About Me:

I am also a marketing student currently in my 3rd year of study. I absolutely love what I learn and hopefully can pursue a career that’s strongly related to marketing in the future. In fact, I plan to go back to Japan (my home country) upon graduation, which is both sad and exciting because I would have to leave this awesome city to be closer to my family.

I’m currently learning Spanish as my fourth language. I speak Japanese as my first language, second is Chinese/Shanghainese (it’s a dialect!) and the third would be English. Hola at me if you are a Spanish speaker, I would love to practice some conversations with you haha.

I enjoy traveling, and I’m especially interested in travelling to South East Asia such as Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia. This summer I will be going on a study abroad program, which I will be visiting Czech Republic and other Central Europe countries. Can’t wait to show you guys the traditional Czech products and its beautiful sceneries.

School days aren’t our favourite, but we always manage to make it more bearable. This day, we decided to take a stroll and explore the school, and there, we found a perfect place to take a break and finally get some fresh air.

Trinity College is one of the smallest and most prestigious colleges on the St. George Campus, and boy, was it beautiful.  The Chapel right next to was the most magical place we’ve ever seen in the entire Toronto city, but unfortunately, a choral evensong were taking place during the time so we decided to come back on the later dates.

I normally don’t prefer wearing white jeans, as they can get messy very easily. But this pair of ASOS jeans fits like a glove. They’re thick enough to get me through the Canadian winter, but also so soft that I can’t resist to wear them for those long hours sitting in classes.

The camel coat is a thrift shop find. I absolutely love going for thrift shopping. If ever you are tight on budget, and still wanna look decent, thrift shops are your go-to place. You never know what you’ll find, and sometimes you might find something valuable for next to nothing.

Oh, and since today is February 8th, we wish all the Chinese families and friends a Happy Lunar New Year with the hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come.
